What to expect
A human process, from start to finish.
We don't use automated booking systems or intake forms beyond what's necessary. When you reach out, you're reaching a real person — and we respond with the same care we bring to the work itself.
For one-on-one consultations, we begin with a pre-evaluation meeting before any manuscript changes hands. We want to understand your goals and your work before we begin reading.
For group sessions, we'll let you know when the next session is available and how to join.
Is this only for experienced writers?
No. Group sessions are open to anyone with a story to tell. One-on-one consultations are for writers who have a completed or near-complete draft — but experience level is not a factor.
Do I need to live in the GTA?
We are based in the Greater Toronto Area, and group sessions are held in-person. One-on-one consultations can be held remotely. Reach out and we can talk through what works.
How long does a consultation take?
The timeline varies depending on the manuscript and the scope of the work. We discuss this during the pre-evaluation meeting before committing to a schedule.
What happens after the consultation?
Many writers continue working and return for a follow-up consultation. Others take the notes and revise independently. There's no obligation to commit to more than one session at a time.
